Three versions of the Lord’s Prayer:
Our Traditional version
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil
For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever. Amen
Aramaic Version of Lord’s Prayer
O Cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration!
Soften the ground of our being and carve out a
space within us where Your Presence can abide.
Fill us with Your creativity so that we may be
empowered to bear the fruit of Your mission.
Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance
with our desire and endow us with the wisdom
to produce and share what each being needs to
grow and flourish.
Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us,
as we release others from the entanglement of
Do not let us be seduced by that which would
divert us from our true purpose, but ilIuminate
the opportunities of the present moment.
For you are the ground and the fruitful vision, the
birth power and fulfillment, as all is gathered and
made whole. Amen
The Lord’s Prayer: a version by Jim Colter
Life-Giver, Pain-Bearer, Love-Maker
Source of all that is and that shall be,
Father and Mother of all.
Loving God in whom is heaven:
The hallowing of your name echo throughout the universe!
The way of your justice be followed by all peoples of the world!
Your heavenly will be done by all created beings.
Your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope
and come on earth.
With the bread we need for today, feed us.
In the hurts we give and absorb from one another, forgive us.
In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.
From the trials too great to endure, spare us.
From the grip of all that is evil, free us.
For You reign in the glory of the power that is love,
now and forever. Amen
